It’s a Panda Party – Celebrate Today!

Holiday weekend and some more time to play.  Welcome back!  I have another clean and simple card for you.

Creating for a few more challenges.  Inspiration – Just Add Ink (#610), Style – Tic Tac Toe (#168), Theme – Inspiration Station (#33) and the Sketch only – FUSION (June 23, 2022).

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Card front Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
• Order of Operations:
  • (1) The Panda holding the Balloon image from the retired Party Pandas stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • (2) For the Cross Strip, a (¼”) Horizontal Stripe area was masked off with low tack tape.
  • (3) Using a Blending Brush, the Horizontal Stripe was colored with Tahitian Tide ink.
  • (4) A Post-It-Note was die-cut with the (2⅜”) circle die from the Layering Circles Dies set and used as a mask.
  • (5) The Panda image was stamped again on a Post-It-Note, fussy cut with Paper Snips and used as a mask.
  • (6) The Panda was covered and the circle opening mask was positioned around him. The Tahitian Tide Horizontal Strip was also re-covered with the low tack tape.
  • (7) For the Arc (Partial Circle Shape), I used another Blending Brush and Polished Pink ink.  The color turned out a little more muted as the Brush had some residual Gorgeous Grape ink in it.
  • (8) The masks were removed.
  • (9) Going with the Black and Gray photo inspiration, the Panda was colored with the Light Smoky Slate and Filled-In with Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.
  • (10) The Balloon was colored with the Light Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend.
  • (11) A shadow line was added above the Tahitian Tide Horizontal Strip with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend.
  • (12) The sentiment, Celebrate!, from the retired Celebrate Today stamp set was stamped in the lower right corner with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • (13) The card front was adhered to the card base.

Black and Gray with a few pops of color.  A cute clean and simple (CAS) celebratory Birthday card.
