Wildflower Path – Beautiful Wings Birthday

Let’s Play!!

Sketch: Tuesday Morning Sketches (#643); Color: Global Design Project (#329); Theme: Less is More (#458) and Seize the Birthday (#231); bringing it all together Tic Tac Toe (#148) for the sentiment, the embellishment and the use of dies.

Here is the result:

Steps:

Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
Background Panel: (3¾” x 5⅛”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the larger rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
Banner Flag: (2⅛” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with another of the rectangle dies. The flag cut was achieved by cutting in with the corner of the rectangle die.
Sentiment Label: (2¾” x ¾”) Basic White cardstock scrap. The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Wildflower Path stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink and then die-cut with the label die from the Meadows Dies set.
Focal Image – Butterfly: (3½” x 2¾”)
- The top Open Butterfly was die-cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the larger butterfly from the Brilliant Wings Dies set. The Butterfly was then colored with Stampin’ Blends: Misty Moonlight, Mango Melody and Magenta Madness.
- The bottom Solid Butterfly shape was die cut from retired Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper to give the Wings some extra sparkle.

All of the elements were adhered to match the sketch with a bit of Misty Moonlight In-Color Ribbon to add a bit of color and embellishment drawing your eye to the sentiment.

A bright and pretty Birthday card.
