Floral Color & Contour – You’re Absolutely Amazing

Chasing a few more challenges…welcome back!

Sketch: Paper Craft Crew (#458); Color: CAS Colours & Sketches (#455); Style: AAA Cards (#207) and Ellibelle’s Crafty Wednesday (February).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Top Square:
  • Starting with a (5½” x 4¼”) piece of Copy Paper, I die cut a square opening (2⅛” x 2⅛”) with the retired Layering Squares Dies for the Top Square masking the rest of the card front.
  • I chose the Floral Pattern Mask from the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks set.
  • Using a Blending Brush and Blushing Bride ink, the first layer of the Floral image was added.
  • Using the same Blending Brush and Melon Mambo ink, the second layer detail of the Floral image was added.
• Cross Strip:
  • The previously die-cut Copy Paper Square was used as a mask to cover the Floral image.
  • Two pieces of cardstock scrap were added across the card front as another mask and Blushing Bride ink was added with the Blending Brush to create the Cross Strip.
• Square Frame:
  • Using the (2⅝” x 2⅝”) Layering Square Die, the original square opening mask was enlarged and taped into place around the masked Floral image.
  • With the Floral image masked and the edges of the Cross Strip masked, Real Red ink was added with the Blending Brush to create the Frame.
• Splatter:
  • With the entire Square masked, the Splatter image from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set was added with Smoky Slate and Basic Gray ink.
• Sentiment:
  • The sentiment, You’re Absolutely Amazing, from the Color & Contour stamp set was added with Basic Gray ink.

And…there you have a clean and simple no layer big sentiment floral card in the colors of Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Real Red. A fun card to create!
