Tasteful Touches – You Are The Best

Our current challenge at CARDZ 4 GUYZ (#288) is to create a card using Something that begins with “P”.  I chose Patterned Paper.

With the new 2022 Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration Brochure launching this month, there are a lot of new options…I selected to use the new Tropical Layers Dies and mix it up with great Masculine elements from the Annual Catalog.

There are a few current challenges that also feature Patterned Papers:  Double Trouble (#101) who has chosen to partner with the Try Stampin’ On Tuesdays (#539) for the Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Cinnamon Cider cardstock.
• Patterned Paper: In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Tweed pattern.
• Rectangles: (2” x 3¾”) Left – Light Wood pattern and Right – Stone Brick pattern.
• Shape – Circle: (2⅜”) Dark Wood pattern.   The sentiment, You Are The Best, from the Tasteful Touches stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was then die-cut with the (2⅜”) circle die from the Layering Circles Dies set.
• Decoration – Focal Points – Leaves: (2¼” x 3¼”) Garden Green cardstock and (2¼” x 2¾’) Pear Pizazz cardstock.  Two Leaf dies from the Tropical Layers Dies set were die-cut to add interest to the card.
• Horizontal Cross Strip: (4¼” x ¼”) Retired Braided Burlap Trim.

All of the elements were adhered to match the Sketch.  I just love the warmth of the patterned papers from In Good Taste.  Wonderful patterns for masculine cards.  This card reminds me of the cozy family room in my home growing up.  Let’s hear it for the 70’s! Macrame and Tropical Plants.
