Island Vibes – Welcome

For three Facebook Challenges, I created a color-blocked card.

Case-ing Tuesday Facebook Challenge (#339) for the Sketch, Colour INKspiration Challenge (#114) for the Colors and for the Theme / Stamp Set choice, the Stampin’ Through the Catalog – January 20 Challenge.

If you have Facebook and your app is open, the links should work…if not, you can do a Facebook search.

Here is the result:

ISLAND VIBES – OCEANFRONT – TROPICAL LAYERS DIES – WELL WRITTEN DIES – CT339 – CI114 – STTCCHALLENGE

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
  • Back Panel (4¼” x 5”) Sahara Sand cardstock dry-embossed using the retired Big Shot Embossing Mats with my Big Shot Machine and a Leaf die from the Tropical Layers Dies set.
  • Mid Panel: (3½” x 4”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.  The “Pebbles” image from the Oceanfront stamp set was added to the top and bottom of the panel with Coastal Cabana ink.
  • Forward Panel – Focal Image: (4” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.  The Pineapple image from the Free Sale-a-bration stamp set, Island Vibes was colored with the Balmy Blue (Leaves) and Pacific Point (Fruit) Stampin’ Write Markers and added to the panel three times.
  • Sentiment Label (2⅝” x ⅞”) Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment – Welcome: (2¾” x 1”) Basic White cardstock scrap.  The word, Welcome, from the Well Written Dies set was die-cut and added to the Granny Apple Green label.

All of the elements were adhered together.  The focal image panel and the sentiment label were both popped up with Dimensionals

I totally love the combination of Blues and Greens.  They have been a favorite of mine as long as I can remember.  The tropical inspiration photo influenced the choice of stamp set and I was glad to be able to use it. Sketches are such a great starting point!

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
