Evergreen Forest – Happy Birthday

It is the weekend!  Having a bit of a play this morning…

Working with the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge (#630) and mixing it with the theme option challenge from Seize the Birthday (#226) and the colors suggested by the Sunday Stamps Challenge (#269).

Here is the result:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.  The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.  The top half of the panel was dry-embossed with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to suggest clouds in the sky and then dry-embossed again with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder to create the background forest supporting my focal image.
  • Shape – Circle: (1¼”) Basic White cardstock.  Using a Blending Brush and the inks, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry on a piece of Basic White cardstock scrap, I created the two-toned coloring.  The Sun was then created when punched out with the retired (1¼”) Circle Punch.
  • Side Panel: (2″ x 3¾) Suggested by adding two Garden Green cardstock Trees die-cut with one of the tree dies in the Majestic Mountains Dies set.

A very masculine birthday card with a Sunset and using all the colors. All of the elements were arranged and adhered to the resemble the sketch. Do you like it?

  1. Wow, Jolanda, this is gorgeous! What a clever way to set this scene, and I love how the sentiment came out over the embossing! Brilliant! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
