Bamboo Beauty – You Are So Loved

Our current challenge subject at CARDZ 4 GUYZ (#283) is Leaves. 

At this time of year, we most often think of Autumn Leaves when presented with this theme.  I just wanted to change it up a bit.

Reviewing my supplies and my hoard of patterned papers, I came across this luscious Jungle Garden of Leaves in the Bloom Where You Are Planted Designer Series Paper pack.  The design is earthy and green (my favorite color) and so suitable for a masculine card.

I chose the current sketch over at the Just Add Ink Challenge (#578) to compliment my idea.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) As described above, the Green Leaf patterned paper design from the Bloom Where You Are Planted Designer Series Paper pack.
• Accent Panel: Approximately (2⅝” x 2⅝”) Vellum cardstock.  The sentiment, You Are So Loved, from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set was Clear Color Embossed with Versamark and Evening Evergreen ink. 
• Shapes – Leaves: Evening Evergreen and Mint Macaron cardstock.  I chose to use the retired Tranquil Dies to die-cut the Evening Evergreen Frame and large Leaf approximately (2⅝” x 2⅝”).  I also die-cut a Leaf from the retired Boho Indigo Dies in Mint Macaron because both the shape and color of the Leaf matched the patterned paper so nicely.

Putting it all together, I added the Evening Evergreen Frame and Leaf over the stamped Vellum square and tucked in the Mint Macaron Leaf.  The completed Focal image was then adhered to the front of the patterned paper panel.  I like how you can still see the leaves under the Vellum.  I felt that a Smoky Slate card base suited the card and complimented the smokiness of the vellum.
