Daisy Lane – It’s Your Time to Shine!

Our current challenge at CARDZ 4 GUYZ (#280) is to add some Metal to your card.  How about a whole lot of metal?

I have been away for a bit of a holiday and had a lovely time and the deadline for this challenge is just around the corner.  I wanted to create a great card on the quick and that meant one stamp set and a few basic supplies.

I chose the Daisy Lane stamp set because the Fern image is perfect for a masculine card and the sentiment, It’s Your Time to Shine is an excellent congratulations for anything a guy might accomplish!

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base and Focal Panel: Brushed Copper cardstock.  Card Base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) and Focal Panel (4¾” x 2½”).  I stamped three images of the Fern with Versamark ink and heat-set them with Copper Embossing Powder for a tone-on-tone look.
• Accent Mat and Sentiment Panel: Basic Black cardstock.  Accent Panel (5” x 2¾”) and Sentiment Label (2½” x ½”).  The sentiment was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder, and then the label was die-cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies for a tidy finish.  The Copper on the Black is a nice contrast to the tone-on-tone Copper Focal Panel.
• Inside of the card (not shown) is a Very Vanilla cardstock Panel (4¼” x 3”) accented by a Basic Black cardstock Accent Mat (4½” x 3¼”).

I really like how this card is elegantly handsome.  Copper is my favorite Metal accent.  What is yours?  I am looking forward to seeing what you will create for challenge this time around!  Don’t forget to share.
