Over at Retro Rubber, the current challenge (#166) is a Fall-like table setting that looks so very appealing. I chose the colors from the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge (#436) and had a play with Water Coloring…a Happy Little Stampers September challenge.
Here is the result:

Steps:
- From the Very Vanilla cardstock background panel (4⅛” x 5⅜”), I die-cut the (2⅜”) Circle from the retired Stitched Shapes Dies set. To incorporate the Wooden Table element, I stamped the Wood-Like texture stamp from the retired Timeless Textures (circa 2016) stamp set twice on the diagonal with 2nd Generation Crumb Cake ink (stamped-off once).
- The Floral Jar image from the retired On the Grow (circa 2011) stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink on to the Stitched Shape Circle. The image was then water colored with Polished Pink, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush. Flowers – Polished Pink, Jar and forward Leaves – Soft Succulent and background Leaves and Shadow – Evening Evergreen.
- A Soft Succulent cardstock scrap accent mat was created with the retired (2½”) Circle Punch.
- For the sentiment, I chose Thinking of you, from the On the Grow stamp set. The sentiment was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink in the lower right of the background panel.
- Putting it all together, keeping the card very clean and simple, I adhered the water-colored Floral Jar circle to the accent mat. The background panel was popped up with Dimensionals on a Very Vanilla card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) and the focal image was double-popped up.
On the Grow is one of my keepers. I love both the images in this set and I really like how this card turned out. Hope you do, too!

As beautiful as always, Jolanda! Your watercolouring experiment is a success, I think! You’ve used some retired favourites of mine too: the stitched shapes and Timeless Textures. Like LeAnne, they’re keepers. Thanks for playing along with us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.
