Joyful Life – Good Friends

Having a play with some delightful colors and a great new stamp set, Joyful Life.  Those two, Buster Bear and Cotton Tail are having so much fun!

Here is the result:

I kept this card clean and simple, using just stamps, ink and paper.  But, I could not resist doing a little dry embossing, as a step up, with my favorite embossing folder. I love to add a bit of texture to a plain background.

Steps:

• Focal Image: (3” x 3”) Basic White cardstock.  The Friends on the Bicycle image from the Joyful Life stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and allowed to set.  With a dry Water Painter and a small palette with water, the image was colored with Crumb Cake, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Basic Gray inks.  Method:  Direct from Ink Pad Lid.  The image was fussy cut with Paper Snips when the paint was totally dry.
• Strips: (⅜” x 4½”, 3½” and 3”) Old Olive, Real Red and Daffodil Delight cardstock scraps.  The Old Olive strip was stamped with Old Olive ink using the Tiny Leaves stamp from the Joyful Life stamp set. The Real Red strip was stamped with Real Red ink using the Cross Hatch stamp from the Circle Celebration stamp set.  The Daffodil Delight strip was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink using the Tiny Crosses stamp from the Joyful Life stamp set.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.  The sentiment, FRIENDS like you…, from the Joyful Life stamp set was stamped with Old Olive ink and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

All of the elements were assembled and adhered to a Daffodil Delight card base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) as per the inverted sketch.  I changed the orientation because I wanted the Friends to ride out and not hit the “wall”.  The Friends were popped up with Dimensionals and the “movement” lines were added back in with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

Don’t you just want to hop on your bike and join these two on a Fall bike ride?  I know I would love to.
