Your Friendship Warms My Heart – Spirited Snowmen

Catching up after the holiday weekend and mixing two challenges that are due today. Something a little chill for a hot day!

Sketch: Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (#492) and Color: Color Throw Down Challenges (#649).

Here is the result:

SPIRITED SNOWMEN – FMS491 – CTD649

Steps:

  • Square Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.  The Happy Snowman image from the retired Spirited Snowmen stamp set was stamped directly to the card front with Basic Gray ink.  I colored the Snowman with Stampin’ Blends.   Current Colors: Rich Razzleberry, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate and Bronze.  To match the Tempting Turquoise color, I used the retired Dark Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities marker.
  • Frame Square: (2⅝”) Tempting Turquoise cardstock die-cut with both the (2⅝”) and (2⅜”) retired Layering Square Dies.  Using the (2⅝”) Square cut opening that resulted from the first die-cut, as a mask, I framed the Snowman and added the Snow Flakes above his head using Smoky Slate ink to ensure that they did not stray outside of the Frame.
  • Sentiment: The sentiment from the same stamp set was added to the card front using Rich Razzleberry ink.  For a guide, I placed the Frame around the Snowman and chose the placement under the Frame.
  • Embellishment: Basic White cardstock scrap.  The Holly Berries image from the same stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink and colored with the Rich Razzleberry and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and the fussy cut with Paper Snips.

To complete this card, the Frame was adhered in place and the Holly Berries were popped up with Dimensionals.

I just love this little guy.  His smile is so infectious!  Nothing chill about him.  You can just feel the warmth beaming from his heart!

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
