My take on this week’s Sunday Sketch Challenge – SS005.

The choice of stamp set – Celebrate Sunflowers was influenced by the Color Challenge presented by Hand Stamped Sentiments (#366).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Focal Image: Sunflowers. The smaller Sunflower image was stamped twice on to a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The Sunflowers were colored with the challenge colors. Daffodil Delight medium and dark Stampin’ Blendabilities stepped in for Bumble Bee (Flower Petals) and Calypso Coral (Flower Centers) and Just Jade (Leaves) Stampin’ Blends were used to complete the image. I did use the coordinating die from the Sunflower Dies set but ultimately chose to fussy cut the image to eliminate the white border with my Paper Snips.
- Sentiment Panel: (3½” x 2”) Basic White cardstock. The sentiment, Thanks a bunch, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the bottom right corner. The panel was then dry-embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Just Jade dotted pattern paper from the retired Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.
- Cross Strip: (⅜” x 5”) retired Calypso Coral Satin Ribbon.
I chose a Bumble Bee card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) to complete the card. The Sunflowers were popped and double popped up to add interest and dimension.
