One of the first challenges I started doing were color challenges and specifically the ones over at Colour INKspiration. CI-101 is a set of truly gorgeous colors and yet had me stumped. In my mind’s eye I have played around with ideas, thought about particular layouts and possible themes. The deadline is looming and with no more time to dilly-dally, I just dove in and just started creating.

Here is the result. I hope you like it.

Steps:
- Background Panel: (3¼” x 5”) Paper Lattice colored with Evening Evergreen ink and a Sponge Wedge.
- Floral Images: (3¼” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock. The Floral Image from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink twice and colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends – Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Just Jade. The Flowers were then closely fussy cut with Paper Snips. There is a coordinating die (Penned Flowers) but I did not want to have a white border showing.
- Sentiment Oval: (1¾” x ¾”) Balmy Blue cardstock scrap. The sentiment, Have a Beautiful Day, from the Very Versailles stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and again in Evening Evergreen ink. The sentiment was then heat-set embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment was then die-cut with the retired smaller Stitched Shapes Dies oval.
The colored florals and lattice looked prettiest on a Purple Posy (retired color) card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”). The Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather colors are just a bit darker and pop nicely against it.
Altogether this card turned out quite nice.
