You Are Simply, Elegantly, Extraordinary!

I need a bit of a break from all of the June influenced “Manly” themed projects I have been creating. We all need a little glitz and glamour in our lives.

I picked the color challenge from the Paper Craft Crew (#430) and the “Mark It Up!” tools challenge from the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge (#277).

I am such a fan of Stampin’ Blends.  Such vibrant colors and so easy to use.  Who doesn’t love a little “adult” coloring? This started out as a concept idea for another project but didn’t quite work. I finished this card and created another for the other challenge project.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Such beautiful papers.  I selected the lacy gold and white pattern and colored it with the Flirty Flamingo and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.  Challenge complete: Black, White, Metallic (Gold) and a pop of color – Flirty Flamingo!
• Sentiment Label: (3” x 1¼”) Basic Black cardstock.  The sentiment, You Make the Ordinary Extraordinary, from the Simply Succulents stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment label shape was die-cut using the larger label die from the Potted Succulents Die set.

And that was it!  I thought the colored background was too pretty to cover up.  I adhered the panel to a Basic Black card base (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”).  To complete the card, a few Champagne Rhinestone Jewels were added for a bit of bling.

Black and White with a pop of color is always a favorite choice of mine.  Throw in a metallic element and the color scheme goes from “Wow” to “Wonderful”. Give it a try!
