Shapes & Colors – Happy Hello

We all learned our colors and shapes with Building Blocks.

The current sketch from the Paper Craft Crew (#428) made me think of this fundamental lesson.  Especially when paired up with the new Watercolor Shapes stamp set.   I kept the concept but altered the design layout.  I chose to use the current color challenge from the Fab Friday Group (#214).  The new Stampin’ Up! In-Colors are so much fun and look so great together!

Here is the result:

WATERCOLOR SHAPES – CREATE WITH FRIENDS – PCC428 – FABFRI214

Steps:

I created three blocks to mimic the layout of the original sketch design.  Four Rectangle Shapes (1⅞” x ⅝”) were stamped in a block (3¾” x 1½”) on to Basic White cardstock:  Pale Papaya ink – top, Polished Pink ink – center, and Soft Succulent ink – bottom.  The three Oval Shapes (2” x 1”) were stamped in Soft Succulent ink, Fresh Freesia ink and Pale Papaya ink.  The Ovals were die-cut with the matching sized Layering Ovals Die.  The sentiment, Happy, Happy, Hello was created with words from the Create with Friends stamp set and were stamped to the center of the Ovals with Evening Evergreen ink.

The Rectangle Blocks were adhered to a Basic White cardstock panel (4” x 5¼”) and the entire panel was dry-embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing FolderThe Quilted Embossing Technique embeds the blocks in to the panel reducing hard edges and making it look like one solid piece.

The Ovals were popped up and centered in each Rectangle Block and the completed panel was adhered to an Evening Evergreen card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”).

This was a fun little card to make.  Simple Shapes and Lovely Colors – so easy!
