Dear Friend – Weekend Challenge – Color Inspiration

This week’s Weekend Challenge to keep you stamping is a color based.  The image I chose has a bevy of floral bouquet options.  Take from it what you will.  Be inspired by the image and/or the colors.  Have fun with it!

I chose the sketch layout from Atlantic Hearts (AHSC # 421) and opted to use a Die as suggested by the Happy Little Stampers – Dies Challenge for May.

Here is what I created…

Sketch (Card) Elements:

Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored @ 4¼”) Basic White

Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder after stamping the greeting.  The greeting, To a dear friend, is from the new Plentiful Plants stamp set and was stamped in Smoky Slate ink.

Focal Image Die: (4” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.  The Floral Bouquet image was die-cut with the large floral die from the new Artistic Dies set.  The Floral Bouquet was colored with Stampin’ Blends.  Large Posy – Light Polished Pink, Small Rose – Light Calypso Coral, Tiny Posies – Light Highland Heather, Twigs – Light Misty Moonlight, Large Leaves – Light Old Olive, and Small Leaves a combination of Dark Old Olive and Light Granny Apple Green to get as close as possible to Garden Green.

To match the sketch, I added a Fresh Freesia In-Color Open Weave Ribbon to the lower portion of the background panel hiding the edges in behind.  The Floral Bouquet die-cut was then adhered and a few Rhinestones were added to the top right.

I am looking forward to playing with this floral die.  So pretty when colored. A must have if you love dies.
