This week’s Weekend Challenge to keep you stamping is another Simple Sketch. Keep it simple or add a little more. The choice is yours. Additional inspiration: Colors – Color Throw Down (#641) and Theme – The Spot Challenge (#160).
And this is the result:

If you do know me well you will know that I love to collect paper…and Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper is a biggie. I took a tour through my collection and selected a few sheets in the colors that coordinated with the color challenge.
- The background panel (3¾” x 5”) is from Parker’s Patterns and the strip panel (1½” x 4¾”) is from Needlepoint Nook.
- For my focal image (2¼” x 3¼’), I chose the Beach Dad from the A Good Man stamp set. This is the right image to congratulate a fellow for his hard work and his license to relax in retirement. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and colored with a Blender Pen for a water colored effect. Shorts and Hat – Balmy Blue, Tee Shirt – Real Red and Beach Chair – Crumb Cake .
- The sentiment, Congratulations, from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set, was stamped in Real Red ink at the bottom of the panel.
- The accent mat (2½” x 3½”) is Balmy Blue.
I selected to adhere all the elements on to a Crumb Cake card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”). I added three Star Designer Elements for the suggested buttons on the strip panel. They add a nice touch and a bit of bling.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
