Stay Brave

A quick little card for the current CAS Color & Sketch Challenge #417.

COLOR & CONTOUR – BEAUTIFUL BRUSHSTROKES DIES – HANDWRITTEN SENTIMENTS – CAS COLOR & SKETCH #417

The Handwritten Sentiments stamp set from the Dina Wakley collection was still on my work table.  I wondered whether any of the sentiments could be used to replicate the diagonal pattern and make sense if they were grouped together.

I chose: Don’t take these moments for granted…keep taking chances…stay brave.

What a positive affirmation.  Great words to live by.

The sentiments were stamped diagonally on to a piece of Basic White cardstock (4” x 5¼”) using Stazon Black ink for a crisper image.

A mask was die-cut from another piece of Basic White cardstock (4” x 5¼”) using the Beautiful Brushstrokes Die.  Using the mask diagonally, I added color to the sentiments with a Sponge Dauber.  Mint Macaron, Just Jade and then Soft Succulent.

To fill in a little of the white space, I added Just Jade splatter using the Splatter stamp from the Color & Contour stamp set.

Keeping it simple, the card front was adhered to a Just Jade card base.  Why don’t you give this sketch a try?  Share what you make.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  2. I LOVE IT! What a super creative interpretation of our sketch. I love the color combo as well. The print on the Dina Wakely sentiment is perfect – I thought it was really your handwriting. Great job. Thanks for joining us this week at CC&S
