On this 5th Friday in April, I decided to play with an older Paper Pumpkin kit and see what I could make with it. I pulled the February 2021 kit – Bouquet of Hope. My goal was to create a card using the MOJO Monday Sketch #558.
What was still in the box? Remember this kit had a natural tie-in to the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper – Flower & Field…Did I have any left?
Well, there were still a few card bases and a few scraps of patterned paper…
And this is the result:
From the Paper Pumpkin kit, I cut the Merry Merlot Rose patterned card base in half and trimmed the piece to the top diagonal dimensions as per the sketch (3½” left, 4” top, 2¼” right). I then cut the Rococo Rose solid card base in the same manner (1¾” left, 4” bottom, 3” right). When the two pieces are set together, they make up the standard background panel (4” x 5¼”).
I chose a piece of Merry Merlot/Rococo Rose patterned Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (¾” x 4¼”) as an accent.
Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, I die-cut the (1⅞” x 3¼”) rectangle in Basic White cardstock for the second accent piece.
The Merry Merlot cardstock circle element is die-cut with the swirly circle die from the Painted Labels Die set.
For my focal image, I die cut the pieces to create three Roses with the Flower dies in the Beautiful Brushstrokes Die set. The Flower base is Basic White and the Petal details were cut from Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot cardstock scraps.
For the sentiment, I chose Celebrating all the Wonderful Things about You, from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set. This sentiment was stamped directly to the bottom diagonal panel in Merry Merlot ink.
The card was ready to assemble. All elements were adhered as per the sketch. A very pretty card. It is amazing how a sketch, a few materials and some scraps can come together with a little bit of glue!
