Pale Papaya – I Thought of You Today

A quick little card for the current Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #362 and for the Water Cooler Wednesday Challenge – WCC314.

LOVE OF LEAVES – FLOWERS AND LEAVES PUNCH – PALE PAPAYA IN-COLOR DSP – HSSSC362

Creating a monochromatic card using the new In-Color Pale Papaya.

I created a circle mask when I made my last card.  I re-used it for this card.  I used the (2⅛”) Layering Circle Die and die-cut it of a Post-it-Note.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock (2½” x 3¾”), Pale Papaya ink was added through the mask using a Sponge Wedge.

This piece was matted with a piece of Pale Papaya In-Color Designer Series Paper (3¼” x 4½”). I also added a Basic White cardstock accent mat (3⅜” x 4⅝”) to separate the patterned paper from the Pale Papaya card base.

For my focal image, I cut six Basic White large Flowers and six Pale Papaya small Flowers with the Flowers and Leaves Punch.  I curled the edges with a Bone Folder.  The Flowers were stacked and glued in an alternating pattern.  Two Basic White and two Pale Papaya.  I added a Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to the center of the Flowers.

The sentiment, I thought of you today, from the Love of Leaves stamp set, was stamped in Versamark ink and heat-set embossed with White Embossing Powder on to a scrap of Pale Papaya cardstock.  The scrap was trimmed (⅝” x 1½”) for the label.

All that was left was to glue it all together.  Why don’t you give this sketch a try?  It is a straightforward, simple sketch.  The interest is created by the layers and the materials you choose.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Love the idea of creating a monochromatic card in Pale Papaya. Putting the flowers inside the circle was a creative take on our sketch challenge for your beautiful card. Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments,.
