I love playing along with the various Card Challenges that are out in the blog world. A little inspiration goes a long way.
So, today, my starting point was the sketch over at As You See It – AYSI248. The colors were inspired by the selection over at the Color Throw Down – CTD640. The technique was influenced by the challenge over at The Spot – #159. Tic Tac Toe offers eight choices. I chose the vertical center line of the current Tic Tac Toe Challenge – TTTC110 which included a technique, a theme, and a material.
This is result:

I started with a (4¼” x 5½”) piece of Shimmery White cardstock. I stamped the Floral image from the new Color & Contour stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
From my water color stash, I used my Art Masking Fluid and a small paintbrush to cover the stamped image. Masking Fluid is a light liquid rubber compound that dries quickly and can be easily removed when you have completed your project. It will resist both water and color.
Once dry, I added color with my Blending Brush. I started with Blushing Bride ink in the center and worked my way out by adding Flirty Flamingo ink and finishing of the edges with Calypso Coral ink. I flicked water from a toothbrush over the blended background and dabbed it up with paper towel to create the splatter look. It is hard to see, but I also added a bit of splatter with Wink of Stella Glimmer Paint.
The Mask compound was gently rubbed off exposing the true Shimmery White beneath. I added color with Stampin’ Blends: Light and Dark Pink Pirouette on the Blossoms and Soft Succulent on the Leaves and Stem. Wink of Stella was added to the Blossoms for a little shine. So pretty in person and so hard to see in the photo.

The focal panel was trimmed down by die-cutting with the (2¼” x 3½”) Stitched Rectangle Die.
For the background panel (3½” x 4¾”), I chose to use Shimmery White cardstock and dry-embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I also flicked a bit of the Wink of Stella on to the panel as well.
The sentiment, Thank You, from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set was stamped on to a small scrap of Pink Pirouette cardstock (still in my scrap bin) with Soft Succulent ink and then die-cut with the (2½” x ½”) Stitched Rectangle Die.
I chose Soft Succulent cardstock for the card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) to tie in the color with the focal image.
I put it all together…wait, the lace! I colored a piece of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim with the Light Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blend and added to the right edge of the focal image panel.
