Wrapped Bouquet – Weekend Color Challenge

This week’s Weekend Challenge to keep you stamping is Color.  The image I chose incorporated a number of lovely Spring colors.  I chose to pair the colors with this week’s Sunday Sketch – SS048.

Here is what I created…using the Wrapped Bouquet stamp set and Wrapped Flowers Dies Bundle.

WRAPPED BOUQUET – WRAPPED FLOWERS DIES – WEEKEND COLOR CHALLENGE – SS048

Sketch (Card) Elements:

Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored @ 4¼”) Seaside Spray

Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Strip: (3¾” x ⅝”) Highland Heather dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I opted for a slimmer strip as the focal image was delicate in nature.

Focal Point (Newspaper Wrapped Bouquet) The Floral image was stamped in Sahara Sand ink on to a scrap of Basic White cardstock and colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends: Light Highland Heather, Light Magenta Madness, Dark Pink Pirouette (retired) for Blushing Bride, Light Old Olive for Pear Pizzazz and a bit of shading with Light Seaside Spray.  The Newspaper image was stamped on both sides of a Seaside Spray scrap of cardstock using Smoky Slate ink. Both the Floral Bouquet and the Newspaper Wrap images were then die-cut.

The sentiment, Thanks, Friend, was stamped in Highland Heather on to a scrap of Basic White card stock and die-cut with the smaller Layering Circle Die.  The Pear Pizzazz circle mat was die-cut with the smaller Stitched Shapes Circle Die.

All the elements were then arranged to loosely follow the Sketch layout.

A sweet Spring card thank you card for a friend. It is always interesting to see what develops when you are presented with a challenge…
