Tasteful Touches – Just Because

And this is the result:

From the Just Pick Two, I chose Feathers and Leaves.

I stamped a collage of Feathers (Real Red and Pretty Peacock) over the small Square Box image (Basic Gray and Merry Merlot) from the Tasteful Touches stamp set on to a strip of Basic White cardstock (2½” x 5¼”).  The piece was then dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

For the curved split, as per the layout, a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock (2¾” x 5¼”) was die-cut with the Curvy Dies.  The piece was then dry embossed with the retired Stone 3D Embossing Folder.  I chose this texture because I wanted a more masculine feel to the card.

For the Leaves, I picked several shapes from the Sunflower Dies and die-cut them from scraps of Basic Gray cardstock.  The fine Leaf detail was cut from a scrap of Basic White cardstock.

The sentiment, Just Because, from the Brushed Blooms stamp set was stamped in Versamark on to a scrap of Basic Gray cardstock and heat set with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was die-cut with smaller label size Stitched Rectangle Die.  

All elements were then assembled on to a Basic White card base as per the sketch.

I really like this card “Just Because”.  The sentiment can cover a number of occasions when you need a masculine card.
