True Love Floral Thanks

Needed a Thank You card and I created a quick one with no stamping but lots of coloring.  The True Love Designer Series Paper is perfect.  I had a lot of fun with coloring books when I was younger.

Inspiration for this card were two current challenges: the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge – FMS479 and the TGIF Color Challenge – TGIFC310.

And this is the result:

I colored a patterned piece of the True Love Designer Series Paper (1¾” x 3¼”) with a variety of Stampin’ Blends matching the colors of the challenge; Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party.  I added a little Just Jade for shading.  I chose to mat this piece with Pool Party cardstock (1⅞” x 3⅜”).

For the vertical strip, I chose Flirty Flamingo cardstock (4⅛” x ¾”) and dry embossed it twice in a cross-hatch pattern to look like ribbon using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

For my neutral back panel, I opted for Basic Black cardstock to match the black of the patterned paper.  The panel was dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment, Thanks, was die-cut from the center of the Pool Party focal image mat with the word from the Well Written Dies and added to the bottom left corner of the card.  The Pool Party color contrasts nicely with the black. A neat little tip: If you can cut something from a background piece that will eventually be covered…why not? Saves cutting up another piece of paper.

I chose Pool Party for the card base for color continuity.

I really like this card and I am sure the recipient will too.  The neutral black allows the colors to pop.  All in all, a Clean and Simple card.
