Time for this week’s Sunday Sketch – SS045. I chose to use the colors suggested by the Color Throw Down Team – CTD633. A very soft and subtle palette.
Here is what I created:
These are the steps I followed:
- For the light blue, I selected to use Seaside Spray. The card base and the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper back panel are in this color.
- For the soft gray, I chose Smoky Slate. The bottom panel was stamped with the sentiment, “What a Beautiful Difference one single life makes”, from the Timeless Tulips stamp set in Basic Gray ink and then the panel was dry-embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
- For the neutral, I chose Shimmery White cardstock. The panel was stamped with one of the Flower images from the Four Season Florals stamp set in Smoky Slate ink and then colored with the Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.
- For the kraft color, I selected Crumb Cake. For the Vase, I selected to use the Crumb Cake patterned sheet from the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Vase was punched out with the Vase Builder Punch. I like how this looks like stone.
- The sketch shows a thin strip and I chose to use a Crumb Cake Linen Ribbon (retired) for this element.
- Altered cut sizes: (1) Card Base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″), (2) Added Background Panel (5 1/4″ x 4′), (3) Gray Panel (4 3/4″ x 1 3/4″), (4) Ribbon, no change (3″ x 1/2′), (5) White Panel (2′ x 3 1/4″), (6) Flower Shape = Vase.
I will surely be sad to see Seaside Spray retire. It is a lovely blue. Who has made a difference in your life? Don’t forget to let them know how special they are.
