Twinkle, Twinkle – Moon Baby – The Inque Spot Studio

As it so happens, rarely, but from time to time, I need a baby card. I headed into my stash for an oldie but goodie stamp set. The one I chose is Moon Baby.

Over at TGIF this week, there is a color challenge – TGIFC306 and I chose to marry it up with the sketch challenge over at CAS Colour and Sketches – #410. These felt like perfect options to go with the stamp set.

Here is the sweet result:

To recreate this card:

Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White
Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White dry embossed with the Snow Falling Embossing Folder.
Focal Image: (2⅞” circle) The Baby from the stamp set Moon Baby was stamped on to a piece of Basic White cardstock with Memento Black ink. A Post-It-Note mask was also created. The mask was set over the original image. Using Blending Brushes, Daffodil Delight and Gorgeous Grape inks were blended around the image. The mask was removed and the Baby, Moon and Star were colored in with Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight, Just Jade, and Petal Pink. The image was then die-cut using the Layering Circle Dies. The sentiment, Twinkle, Twinkle, from the same stamp set was stamped in Versamark and heat set embossed with White Embossing Powder.

I put the card together leaving lots of white space to keep it clean. I like how the embossed dots suggest a sky full of stars and how you are able to create a 3D effect when coloring with the Stampin’ Blends. Such a wonderful medium to have in your “tool box”.

I think the new Mom will really like this card. Let me know what you think.
