Our Little World of Friendship

While I had all the materials out and about my workspace, I thought I would create another card but this time for the Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge – PCC415.  PINK, YELLOW, BLUE and GREEN.

All of these colors are found in the Sale-a-bration Flowers and Field Designer Series Paper. PINK: Flirty Flamingo, YELLOW: So Saffron, BLUE: Pool Party and GREEN: Granny Apple Green.  The patterned paper size (2” x 5⅜”) has been dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a bit of interest. 

I selected the Birds on the Tree Branch image again from the Free As A Bird stamp set.  However, this time, I only added ink with the Black Stampin’ Write Marker to the three-bird cluster and stamped them on to a piece of Basic White cardstock (2” x 3’).  I extended the branch by drawing it along. 

The image was colored with the coordinating Stampin’ Blends and the background was colored with So Saffron ink applied with a Blending Brush, adding a hint of color.

The image was originally going to be matted with a Basic White mat (2¼” x 3¼”) but I did not like how much the focal image and the mat covered the patterned paper.  I cut another mat in Pretty Peacock and tucked it behind the patterned paper and under the focal image allowing for ⅛” overlap.

For the same reason, the sentiment banner was also tucked behind the patterned paper. The sentiment, Your Friendship means the World to Me, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of So Saffron cardstock (⅞” x 2½”).

All the elements were assembled on to a Pool Party card base.  However, before adhering it all together, I chose to add another Pool Party panel (4⅛” x 5⅜”) dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder in the background.  I really love using this embossing folder.  The subtle linen fabric look adds so much with so little effort.

I am truly sorry that the Flower and Field Designer Series Paper was a Sale-a-bration free product offering, because I want it in our regular line-up of Designer Series Paper to use for all time!  Today is the last day to get some.  Don’t delay…
