Floral Best Wishes by Parcel Post

For the sketch challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches – CASC408 and the colors for the month…Real Red, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie selected for the SU! Only Color Challenge for February.

The result:

For the twin shapes, I selected the floral cut out and mat from the Perfect Parcels Dies.  The Real Red floral is adhered to the Pumpkin Pie mat.

Giving the twin shapes a little breathing room. The background panel (3⅞” x 5⅛”) was stamped with one of the brushstroke images from the Brushed Blooms stamp set in second generation – stamped off Crushed Curry ink on Basic White cardstock.

For the sentiment, the die-cut word, Wishes, from the Well Written Dies in Real Red cardstock and the word, Best, from the Well Said stamp set was stamped in Real Red ink.

Using a version of Quilt Embossing, I adhered the Perfect Parcel die-cut pieces and the word, Wishes, to the panel.  The panel was dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder effectively melding the pieces together.

To complete the card, the melded panel was adhered to a Real Red cardstock mat (4⅛” x 5⅜”) and mounted on a Basic White card base (4¼” x 5½”).  Adding the Crushed Curry element, the standing leaves from the Well Written Dies was die-cut and trimmed and added on top of the twin shapes.

This card is not be as “clean” as some I have made.  I gave up some of the “white” space to support the Crushed Curry leave elements so that they fit within the overall concept of my idea. A different style of card, essentially using all die-cuts and very little stamping to match the suggested sketch.  I like it!  Do you?

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda
