Silver and Gold, Gold and Silver. The Paper Players Team challenge– PP528 had me thinking about you!
While I see now that the challenge suggested using Red or Pink with Black and White with Silver and/or Gold, I initially read it as Red and White or Black and White or Gold and Silver. All week, I have been thinking Gold and Silver and that is ultimately what I used when I designed my card. So, I missed the mark…

However, with the best of intentions, this is what I came up with…

It was a dark day with all the rain…no room for black…and I was so over Valentine’s pink and red…it was just a day to think of shiny things!
I selected an element from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper and framed it with a piece of Silver Foil (3” x 4”).
I went through my stash and found a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (retired) to use for the back panel. The Vellum piece is backed by a piece of Basic White cardstock (3⅞” x 5⅛”).
For the sentiment, Thinking of You, I chose the stamp set Happy Thoughts. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark on to a Basic White scrap and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder (1¼” x 2”).
Tip: To secure the Vellum to the cardstock, Stampin’ Seal is applied to the back of the Gold Stripes so it doesn’t show and Mini Glue Dots are also applied to the back of the Foil pieces so that the adhesive does not show.
All of the elements are arranged on a Smoky Slate card base. Smoky Slate stands in nicely for Silver.
I just love the pieces that you get in the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. From a little touch where needed to an element that can take center stage like the piece I used on this card. These pieces help you create a card in a snap.
Tip Two: Although I used a piece of retired Vellum, the look can be recreated using Tear & Tape Adhesive and the Gilded Leafing Flakes on a Basic White panel.
Cheers, Jolanda! Thanks for spending some of your day with me,
