Colour INKspiration – CI93 has been bumbling around in my head since last Tuesday, February 9th. This is such a great image. I love a bright green and a bold blue. The sandy color was what was throwing me…

I sat down to work on a sketch challenge but got inspired by scraps of the True Love Designer Series Paper that were on my work table.

I colored the Basic Black Mini Diamond piece with a Sponge Dauber inked in Granny Apple Green. I then matted it with a piece of Pacific Point cardstock (Size: 1⅞” x 2” and 2 x 2⅛”).
I colored the Basic White Open Diamond piece with a Sponge Brayer inked in Pacific Point and chose to mat it with Granny Apple Green cardstock. The piece is the same size as above.
For the focal image, I used a Blending Brush to apply Sahara Sand ink over the entire floral pattern piece. Using the fine brush tip Water Painter, the flowers and leaf were painted. I chose to mat this piece in Basic Black cardstock. (Size: 2” x 2¼” and 2⅛” x 2⅜”).
Side Note: While I had the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder out, I also dry embossed the Basic Black mat twice to create a cross-hatch pattern.
I stamped the sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Art Gallery stamp set on to Sahara Sand cardstock. I chose this sentiment because of the size and the font of the greeting would work well with my layout. The sentiment was cut apart, closely trimmed and sponged. Happy in Granny Apple Green and Birthday in Pacific Point.
This layout is very simple and as such would make a very nice #SimpleStamping card.
I stepped it up just a tad by adding texture. Both the Sahara Sand back panel and sentiment pieces were dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
Sometimes, you just need to let the smaller pieces “talk” to you. I am quite pleased with how this card turned out. Do you like it?
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
Over at The Spot Challenge – TSC150, the theme this week is Happy Birthday. I decided to enter this card into the fray. Wish me luck!
