Approaching Perfection – Oh So Ombre Birthday

A fun little sketch over at TGIF this week.  Sketch Challenge – TGIFC303

The end of Sale-a-bration is approaching quickly and I wanted to play with a few of the products you can earn for FREE with a qualifying purchase.

The Approaching Perfection stamp set is a super set of great sentiments coupled with a few fun images.  Really easy to create quick Birthday cards.  The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper collection includes four great colors and four fun patterns.  An excellent companion to the stamp set.

I chose to create a monochromatic card using Bermuda Bay.

APPROACHING PERFECTION – OH SO OMBRE DSP – SALEABRATION – TGIFC303

I cut the patterned paper panel to 3½” x 4¾” from the original 6” x 6” sheet.  I stamped a series of the Candle images in Bermuda Bay and then dry embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut a 3⅝” x 4⅞” Basic White mat for the panel.

The Pool Party Greeting panel/label was cut to 2” x 2¾”.  The Sentiment and the Balloon image were stamped in Bermuda Bay and then also dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder with the pattern/grain going in the other direction (horizontal). I added a little sponged edging to create definition so that it stands apart from the Ombre panel.

The Happy Birthday greeting was stamped onto a scrap of Bermuda Bay cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  The greeting was cut apart and trimmed into two separate banners.

All the pieces were arranged on a Bermuda Bay card base in the pattern suggested by the sketch.  To complete the card, although hard to see, Wink of Stella Glitter was added to the Balloon (which was colored in with the Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Marker) and the centers of the Candle Sparkle Flames.

Choosing the Bermuda Bay monochromatic color scheme makes this Birthday card suitable for both guys and gals!
