An escape from the cold winter weather…
For the sketch challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches – CASC406 and the Just Add Ink – JAI541 Blended Backgrounds using the colors for the month…Real Red, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie selected for the SU! Only Color Challenge for February, I have created this card because I am dreaming of warmer climates.
The result:

BLENDED BACKGROUND: I created a mask by cutting the largest Oval shape out of the center and placed it over a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Using Blending Brushes, I added Crushed Curry ink to the center, building around with Pumpkin Pie ink and finishing off with Real Red ink.
FOCAL POINT: From the Sending Sunshine stamp set, the Water and Clouds were stamped in Real Red ink. The bottom of the Sun/Sunset image was inked in Pumpkin Pie ink. I selected the Sun from the Waterfront stamp set, inked in Crushed Curry to add at the horizon.
The Sailboat and Birds from the Sailing Home stamp set and the Leafy Fronds from the Sending Sunshine stamp set were added in Memento Black ink. The Hull of the Sailboat was colored in with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
MAT: The same size Oval was die-cut out from a piece of Basic Black cardstock (3½” x 4¾”) and used as a frame for the focal image scene. The sentiment, also from the Sending Sunshine stamp set was stamped in the lower right corner with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. Texture was added by dry embossing the frame with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
BACK PANEL and CARD BASE: The Very Vanilla back panel (4⅛” x 5⅜”) was dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for some added texture and mounted to the same color card base.
Inhale. Exhale. Enjoy. I hope this little vacation moment warms your sole.
On that occasion, I am entering this card into the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge – WWC308. What better occasion than a holiday!

Good News: I earned a win over at the Watercooler and an Honorable Mention over at Just Add Ink.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda
