Deadlines, deadlines, and deadlines.
The colors for this week…a soft pink, a soft gray, and a dreamy blue for the Color Throw Down – CTD627 Challenge were so appealing that I just needed to make a card with them.

For me, that translated into Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate and Misty Moonlight.
Now what to do with these colors…I found the current sketch from The Paper Craft Crew – PCC411. It was a sweet layout and I thought I could make it work.

Here is what I created:

Based on the Sketch, these were the major take aways:
Design Element #1 – A soft background: I chose to add a mottled Smoky Slate background using the Hydrangea image from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set stamped multiple times. I then decided to add some texture to this panel by dry embossing it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
Design Element #2 – A side strip: I created my own patterned paper by stamping the Leaf image from The Right Triangle stamp set in Blushing Bride on a ¾” x 3½” strip of Blushing Bride cardstock.
Design Element #3 – A matted Rectangle: I die-cut the two smaller Stitched with Whimsey Dies Squares in Basic White and Misty Moonlight. I also traced around the outside of the die shapes and fussy cut the cardstock to retain the wavy shape.
Design Element #4 – A shape: I stamped two Roses from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in Blushing Bride. The Roses were then fussy cut and added to the card. One popped up over the other.
Design Element #5 – Sprigs: I chose to die-cut three Leaves in Smoky Slate using the Wild Rose Dies and arranged them around the Roses.
Design Element #6 – Sentiment: I added the sentiment, Best Wishes, from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set to the bottom right corner of the Basic White Stitched with Whimsey die-cut square.
This turned out to be a very sweet card, don’t you think?
In fact, I think I will enter this card to the Water Cooler Wednesday – All Occasion Challenge – WWC306
