Shimmer Mist

Friday Simple Stamping – Black Friday – November 27, 2020

In recognition of Black Friday, the theme for today, the cards created are predominately Black with a touch of Shimmer.

A few simple items to have in your crafting stash should be (1) Decorative Masks, (2) Shimmer Paint and (3) Blending Brushes and/or Sponge Daubers.  These items can help you create a myriad of quick and elegant cards.

The featured products are Champagne Shimmer Mist and the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks.  I used our new Blending Brush(s) (available in January) to apply the shimmer paint as it made the application so easy.  You can easily use our Sponge Daubers for this pretty technique, too.

Easy – Happy New Year’s

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S – BASIC BLACK AND CHAMPAGNE SHIMMER MIST

Paper, Stamp and InkPaper Trimmer and Scissors is all that is required to create this card.  Champagne Shimmer Mist is applied over the Patterned Mask with the Blending Brush and left to dry.  The sentiments from A Wish for Everything are stamped on to the Brushed Metallic Gold square (1¼”) and flag banner (½” x 3¾”) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The square is double matted with Basic Black (1⅝”) and a scrap of Brushed Silver (1¾”).  Smoky Slate could be substituted for the Silver.

Step Up – Moments of Joy

MOMENTS OF JOY – BASIC BLACK AND CHAMPAGNE SHIMMER MIST

To Step this card up, I used a few Die Cut sets and heat set embossing.  Again, Champagne Shimmer Mist is applied over the Patterned Mask but only diagonally to one half.  The other half has been splattered using the smaller Water Painter brush.  The sentiment from Peaceful Moments is stamped in Versamark ink and heat set with Gold Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock and die-cut with the Layering Circle Die (1⅞”) and matted with the Brushed Metallic Gold open swirl die-cut from the Painted Labels Dies.

Stepped Up – Happy New Year

Further Stepping Up this card, I used different Die-Cut Sets:  The Word Wishes Dies, the Beautiful Boughs Dies and the Many Medallions Dies.  No actual stamping and changing the orientation to horizontal, I let the Brushed Metallic cardstock do all the work.

Each of these cards are quite elegant and I love the shimmery pattern elements created by using the Decorative Pattern Mask.  Don’t you agree?
