Thinking of You at Christmas

October 27, 2020

Case-ing Tuesday #275 (August – December 2020 Mini Catalog, page 81) and using the colors from Colour INKspiration Challenge #88

Key elements from the sample in the Mini Catalog include a matted focal image, patterned paper, flag and some ribbon.

And this is the card I created…

As I was influenced by the colors from the Colour INKspiration challenge, I selected to fussy cut a trio of Poinsettia’s from one of the sheets of Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper because it would look nice with the yellow color.

I substituted Bumble Bee for Crushed Curry as the colors are very similar and popped up the cut flowers over a Tasteful Textile 3D embossed Bumble Bee mat adding some little leaves cut from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies in Copper Brushed Metallic card stock.

This is framed with a Pretty Peacock mat. The patterned paper back layer is one of the 2020/2022 In-Color designs in Bumble Bee.  For the ribbon element, I chose to use the In-Color Scalloped Linen Ribbon in Pretty Peacock and Crumb Cake.

I like to hide my ribbon edges so I chose a close mat in Just Jade which has been texturized with the Subtle 3D embossing folder to sit on top of a matching Just Jade card base.

For the sentiment, I picked Thinking of You at Christmas from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. Stamped in Pretty Peacock.  I am not a true fan of flagged elements and I thought a circle would be much nicer on this particular card.  I die-cut the circle medallion from Tasteful Labels Dies and softened the look by water coloring a ring of Crumb Cake over the lacy edge.

I really like how this card turned out.  Do you?  Let me know what you think.  Post a comment.  I would love to hear from you!

Cheers, Jolanda
