Welcome back!  Happy Friday.  For a Little One…

I am playing with Paper Players (#797) for a child’s card, and I opted for a baby card.

My design choices included the Sunday Stamps (#391) layers sketch; choosing three colors for Color Dare (Color Surprise); and creating a matching envelope for Little Red Wagon (#870).

Here is the result:

A LITTLE WILD – PP797 – SSC391 – CD Color Surprise – LRW870

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3½” x 5”) Barely Blush cardstock die-cut with the (3⅜” x 4¾”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set.
  • Background Panel: (3¼” x 4½”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (3” x 4⅜”) Rectangle die from the same dies set.
  • Circle Frame: (2¾” x 2¾”) Cloud Cover cardstock double die-cut with the (2½”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Circle of Season Dies, the 3rd Qtr 2025 Paper Pumpkin Add-On.
  • Frame Inset: (2¼” x 2¼”) Basic White cardstock, also die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die.
    • The small Flower image from the retired A Little Wild stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors: Lemon Lolly, Barely Blush and Cloud Cover.
  • Sentiment Circle: (2¼” x 2¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die.
    • The sentiment, A great big welcome for a sweet little someone, again from the A Little Wild stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • Focal Image – Baby Elephant: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The front facing Elephant image was selectively inked and stamped with Basic Gray ink and then colored with the Barely Blush and Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends Markers and then fussy-cut with Detail Scissors.
  • Coordinating Enevlope: Basic White.  A piece of heavy weight copy paper was slipped into the envelope and both the front facing and back facing Elephant images along with the Flower image and the Grass image were all stamped with Basic Gray ink onto the front and backside of the envelope and colored with the same Stampin’ Blends Markers.

All layers were adhered to the card base.  The Elephant was popped up with Dimensionals.

  1. What a little sweetheart of a baby card! Such pretty colours and the mix of the pastel yellow, blue and pink make it suitable for a baby of any gender. The stitch detailing and the layering give a lovely finish to your design while the sentiment is spot on. Thank you for sharing in with my ‘for the little ones’ challenge. 🙂

  12. This is so precious & sweet. Love the colors (and for photographing yellow so perfectly! I find that the hardest color to capture. lol). Thank you for sharing at Color Dare.
