Buzzing By to Say Hello

Welcome back!  A brand-new week and a fresh spring hello card…

Today, I am playing with: Festive Friday (#209) incorporating several of the suggested elements for a happy hello card featuring a Bumble Bee.

Sharing with Make My Monday (#278) Flowers, Ellibelle’s Garden Party (#15) Things found in a Garden, and Creative Crafters (#100) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
  • The greeting, Hello, from the retired Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Side Panel: (2⅝” x 5¼”) Black & White Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper pack.
• Accent Mat: (2⅝” x 2⅞”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (2½” x 2¾”) Bee & Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired In The Lines Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors Chosen: Flowers – Light and Dark Lemon Lolly; Stamens and Bumble Bee – Dark Daffodil Delight; Bumble Bee Wings – Light Soft Sea Foam; and Stems – Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  A piece of retired Silver & White Sheer Ribbon was added as were a few Basic Black retired Classic Matte Dots to complete the card.

It is fun to delve into your stash and pull out favorites to make a striking card.
