Welcome back! Vacation is over and it is time to get back in the Studio!
Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#560). Where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired. Today’s inspiration can be found on page 54 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.
My design choices were influenced by: Make My Monday (#275) for a Montone color palette; We Love Stamping (#2604) for a Spring theme; and Seize the Birthday (#324) for a Spring Garden theme.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock opting for a standard A2 card.
- Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Garden Green cardstock.
- Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
- The greeting, Happy Birthday, from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Garden Green ink.
- Accent Mat / Frame: (3” x 4”) Garden Green Floral card from the now retired Days Like This Memories & More Card Pack cut to (3” x 3”).
- Focal Panel: (3” x 4”) Garden Green Diamond Dot card from the same Card Pack trimmed to (2¾” x 2¾”).
- Circle Shape: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the (1¾”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Focal Image – Butterfly: (3” x 4”) Butterfly card from the same Card Pack. The Garden Green Butterfly was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Cross Strip: (3” x 1”) Garden Green Floral Garden off cut.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch on the top half of the card with the Butterfly popped up with Dimensionals, and finished off with the Floral Cross Strip for an A2 card.
Are the Butterflies back in your neck of the woods? They have been spotted in my garden…
