Soda Pop – Celebrate

Welcome back!  Happy Sunday…

Today, we get a new Paper Players (#722) challenge and this week Joanne has given us a sketch.

The sketch has clean lines, and I thought it was perfect for a quick masculine birthday card.

My choices were influenced by the Navy and Lime Green color scheme suggested by Color Hues (#102) and a line from the Paper Craft Crew (#605) Tic Tac Toe board: Ribbon (Twine); Shapes (Rectangles); and Embossing (Texture Folders).

Here is the result:

SODA POP – PP722 – TCH102 – PCC605

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Navy and White Striped Block patterned paper from the retired Close To My Heart Soda Pop Stickers and Paper Packet.
    • Alternating Blocks were colored with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Marker.
  • Cross Strip: (4¾” x ¾”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Central Shape – Rectangle: (3⅜” x 1⅞”) Night of Navy cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Diamond Fun Pattern Embossing Folder.
  • Sentiment Banner: Soda Pop Sticker – Celebrate Life.
    • The lighter Lime coloring of the sticker was enhanced by deepening the tone with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Marker.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and Basic White Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the Night of Navy Block.

A reminder to have fun and enjoy life.

  3. I like the strong, graphic feel of this card, Jolanda. The addition of the pops of Lemon Lime to the DSP was a super idea and as always, I love the amount of texture you pack into a design. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.
