Bold Butterfly – Dream

Hi again!  Playing around in the Studio…

Inspiration: Just Us Girls (#724) Anything Goes with Stencils…but what?  How about Ellibelle’s I Spy (#14) Something with Wings. 

Then I opted for a clean and simple card using the AAA Cards (#264) Sketch and to share it with Simply Clean & Simple (#10).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Card Front Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Using a Blending Brush, Summer Splash ink and the Trellis Styled Mask from the Foursquare Decorative Masks set, color was stenciled as a background.
  • The panel was then dry-embossed with my favorite retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a bit of Linen texture.
• Decoration – Butterfly: (3½” x 2¼”) Basic White and Summer Splash cardstock pieces.
  • The Basic White solid Base Butterfly was die-cut with the Butterfly die from the retired Butterflies Thinlits Dies set and the Summer Splash Detailed Butterfly was die-cut with the companion Butterfly die from the retired Bold Butterly Framelits Dies set.
• Sentiment Accent: ( 1” x ¼”) Summer Splash cardstock scrap
• Sentiment Label: (⅝” x ⅜”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • Only the word, DREAM, from the EXPLORE DREAM DISCOVER greeting, from the Next Destination stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash ink and closely trimmed with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. I think Summer Splash may be my new favorite color…with or without a greeting, this card is suitable for so many occasions and is really easy to create.
