Inked & Tiled – Dainty Delight

Welcome back!  Just want to share this card I made for this afternoon’s class.

Inspired by both the Creative Colours (#138) palette and the Tuesday Morning (#754) sketch, I decided to play with two of my favorite stamp sets which, alas are retiring…Inked & Tiled and Dainty Delight.

Here is the result:

INKED & TILED – DAINTY DELIGHT – CCC138 – TMS754

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the now retired Cross Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Mat: (3” x 4¾”) Cajun Craze cardstock die-cut with the (2⅞” x 4½”) Elongated Hexagon die from the Countryside Corners Dies set.
  • Focal Panel: (3” x 4¾”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Cornflower image from the Inked & Tiled stamp set was inked with Balmy Blue ink and a bit of Boho Blue ink was added by using the Stampin’ Write Marker before stamping.
    • The Leaf image from the same stamp set was stamped twice with 2nd and 3rd Generation Blackberry Bliss ink.
    • The Line image and the Star image also from the same stamp set were stamped with 2nd Generation Cajun Craze ink.
    • The Panel was then die-cut with the (2⅜” x 4”) Elongated Hexagon die from the same die set.
  • Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, celebrate you, from the Dainty Delight stamp set was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and then die-cut with the smaller Elongated Hexagon die and truncated to (1⅝” x ¾”).
    • The Label was then sponged with Balmy Blue ink using a Sponge Dauber.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

This is a pretty birthday card.  Change the sentiment and you have a nice card for almost any occasion.
