Welcome back! And again, the week is drawing to a close. Any special weekend plans? Me? It is going to be a date night…
Over at AAA Cards (#263) the clean and simple card theme is Weddings and/or Anniversaries. When you are long-time married, a date night is a good reason to celebrate even if it is not technically your anniversary date.
Over at CAS Colours & Sketches (#535), we are given a “stacked” sketch and I selected colors from the inspiration photo provided by the Facebook SU! Colour Challenge team for April.
All the materials were on my worktable from the cards we made in class on Wednesday and the card I made yesterday. Love it when left over keepers can be repurposed.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Gray cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
- The sentiment words, love and you, from the More Wishes stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder.
- Stack Bottom: Bubble Bath Watercolor patterned piece of paper from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack previously die-cut with the (1⅝” x 1½”) Heart die from the retired Hearts Collection Framelits Dies set.
- Stack Middle: Petunia Pop cardstock scrap.
- Playing with the Frame dies from the Unbounded Love Dies set, the Oval Floral Frame was die-cut and not used.
- Stack Top: Basic White cardstock scrap.
- The Rectangle Leaf Frame from the same die set was die-cut and the actual Leaf Frame was not used. The inset piece was all that was needed as the class card used a Petunia Pop Leaf Frame.
All elements were adhered to the card base and a few Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems were added for a bit of sparkle. The Heart was popped up with Dimensionals.
My collection of die cuts reminds me of a Wedding Arbor or a decorated Swing for Two. I like a clean and simple card and I think my husband wouldn’t mind the touches of pink against the handsome grays.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
