Hooray for Surprises – Hello Birthday Card

Hi!  Round two as a Surprise Party Guest with the Seize the Birthday Team.

The Party Topping (#283) this time is “Off the Edge” and I created a mock step fold card, so I would have edges to decorate using the delicious green/blue colors from the Sunday Stamps (#333) suggested palette and sharing with Creative Creases (#80).  I am also sharing this card with Inspire Create (#166) because I have used lots of new products.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8” x 4½” scored at 4”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 3¾”) Pretty Peacock cardstock dry-embossed with the Diamond patterned Fun Patterns Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Step Panel Base: (3” x 4¾”) Summer Splash cardstock.
• Step Panel Accent Mat: (2⅞” x 4⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
• Step Panel Top: (2¾” x 4½”) Pool Party cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Hope your Birthday is wonderful, from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash ink, a new In-Color.
  • The panel was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Off the Edge Decoration: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Hello Letters from the Just My Type stamp set were stamped with Summer Splash ink and punched out with a (¾”) Circle Punch.
  • The Flower image from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and die-cut with the coordinating Flower die from the Hooray for Surprises Dies set.
  • The Flower Centers were colored with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker.
• Assembly: The completed Step Panel was adhered to the card base, so that the card height was (5¼”).
  • The H, E, L, L, O Letters were added down the left edge off of the Step Panel.
  • The Flowers were added to the right and top edges of the Step Panel ensuring they did not go past the (4¼”) and (5½”) card-size limits.  The top Flower was popped up with a Dimensional.
  • Three Shy Shamrock 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added to the right bottom corner for a bit of bling.

What a nice little card in my favorite colors!
