Cheerful Daisies – Friendship

Hi again!  The other day when perusing Instagram, where I seem to get a lot of Zentangle clips, I saw one that intrigued me.  I wondered if I could do that.

There are a number of CAS (Clean & Simple) Challenges about, so I thought I would give it a go.

The challenges: Double Trouble (#164) partnering with Crafter’s Café (#307) with CAS on Colored Cardstock which complimented Addicted To CAS (#256) looking for a Monochromatic Color scheme.  I decided to share this card with Shopping Our Stash (#520) in Celebration of Women because the support of a good friend is something to celebrate.

Here is the result:

CHEERFUL DAISIES – HAND DRAWN ZENTANGLE – DT164 – CCCB307 – ATCAS256 – SOS520

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Focal Panel (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
    •  I started the Floral Zentangle by drawing the 5-Petal Flowers in a diagonal pattern with a .05 Fine Tipped Black Pen
    • I added the Petal detail and rounded the edges which I colored in solidly with a .08 Fine Tipped Black Pen.
    • Circle Bubbles were drawn in with the .05 Pen and the spaces around them and the Flowers were colored with the .08 Pen.
    • Using a Soft Grey Pencil, low lights were added to the Bubbles and smoothed out with a Paper Stump.
    • Using a White Watercolor Pencil Crayon, highlights were added to the Bubbles and the tips of the Flowers were colored.
    • Using the retired Stampin’ Chalk Marker, the Floral Centers were colored.
    • The sentiment, your friendship means everything, from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I thought the Zentangle turned out nicely, so I stamped the greeting and added it to a card base. Sometimes, you just have to play…

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
