Perched in a Tree – Clearly for You

Welcome back!  It’s Friday and almost the end of the work week.  Have you got creative plans for your weekend?  How about a little inspiration?

Today I am playing with: Ellibelle’s I Spy (#14) Something with Wings and matching it up with the Alphabet (Letter B) for Birds.  I picked the Global Design Project (#441) Colors and the Tuesday Morning (#753) Sketch.

Here is the result:

PERCHED IN A TREE – CLEARLY FOR YOU – EIS014 – Alphabet Letter B – GDP441 – TMS753

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4″) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the 2024 Sale-a-bration Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder.
  • Bottom Panel and Cross Strip: (5¼” x 1¾”) Mini Floral patterned piece of paper and (5¼” x ½”) Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Using Stampin’ Blends Markers, the papers were colored.  The Mini Flower colors: Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia Petals with Lemon Lolly Centers and Soft Sea Foam Leaves, all Light and the Dots Dark Balmy Blue.
  • Tag: (2⅜” x 3⅜”) Lemon Lolly cardstock die-cut with the (2⅜” x 4”) Elongated Hexagon die from the Countryside Corners Dies set, re-cut to the smaller size.
    • A Tag Slot was punched into the top edge of the Tag with the Very Best Trio Punch.
  • Tag Liner: (2⅝” x 1⅞”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (1⅞” x 3⅜”) Elongated Hexagon die, from the same die set, re-cut to the smaller size.
    • Originally, the Three Birds on a Wire image and the greeting, For You, from the retired Clearly for You stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • I changed my mind about the Bird Trio.
  • Decoration – Bird: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Bird image from the Perched on a Tree stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with both Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors: Eye and Beak – Lemon Lolly; Breast and some Feathers – Fresh Freesia; and Body and Feathers – Balmy Blue.
    • The Bird was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Tag Ribbon: retired White Crinkle Ribbon colored with the Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend Marker.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and both the Tag and the Bird were popped up with Dimensionals.
