Notes of Nature – Thanks

Let’s play!!  It is Tuesday and time to create for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#456).  The original card can be found on page 45 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

I opted to create a thank you card using the Notes of Nature stamp set for today’s Facebook Stampin’ Through The Catalog choice.  I also selected Pink as an additional color for the Color Dare (#596) Brown / Black theme and am sharing this card with Paper Craft Crew (#565) for a Catalog Case with a Twist.

Here is the result:

NOTES OF NATURE BUNDLE – CT456 – STTC – CD596 – PCC565

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a Sponge Dauber, the card front edges were lightly sponged with a bit of Pecan Pie ink.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
    • The Twiggy Flower image was randomly stamped with Pecan Pie ink and the edges were also sponged with Pecan Pie ink.
  • Accent Panel: (3¾” x 3”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Field Notes image was stamped on the left side with Pecan Pie ink.
    • The additional color, Pink, was added to the image using the Flirty Flamingo Watercolor Pencil.
    • The left edge was die-cut with the Spiral die from the Gorgeously Made Dies set.
    • The entire panel was crumpled, and the right edge was hand-torn.
    • Once smoothed out, the crinkles and the edges were lightly sponged with Pecan Pie ink.
  • Accent Shape: (4” x 2”) Pecan Pie Grid patterned piece of paper from the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series paper pack die-cut with the (3⅞” x 1¾”) Elongated Hexagon die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Flowers & Leaves: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • Both the Almond Flower and Leaf images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Leaves were colored with the Deep Almond colored pencil from my Crayola Pencil Crayons collection.
    • The Almond Flowers were colored with the Flirty Flamingo Watercolor Pencil and the Deep Almond Pencil Crayon.
    • Using the coordinating dies from the Notes of Nature Dies set, the Leaves and Flowers were die-cut.
  • Sentiment Label: (⅞” x ¼”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The truncated sentiment, Thanks, from the Making Me Smile sentiment stamp was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and closely trimmed with Paper Snips to fit between the Grid Lines.
    • Flirty Flamingo color was added.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a version of the sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals.

Brown (Pecan Pie) and Black (Tuxedo) with Pink (Flirty Flamingo) with touches on White for a very lovely Thank You card.  Notes of Nature is a real favorite of mine.
