Wild Ferns – Thanks

Welcome back!  I finally had some time to play…

The Global Design Project (#440) Team is asking us to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a very pretty card created by Nicole Peschke.

My take aways include Soft Color Blending, Sploosh Type Stamping, Light Image Stamping, White Die Cuts and General Layout.

I selected to keep the card clean and simple for CAS Colours & Sketches (#534) using their suggested colors and chose my stamp set for the current Tic Tac Toe (#245) Diagonal Line: Foliage, Die, and Ink Blending.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (5” x 3¾”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
  • Using a Blending Brush, Soft Sea Foam ink was added to all four corner areas.
  • The Linen Patch image from the Wild Ferns stamp set was randomly stamped around the edges with Soft Sea Foam ink.
  • Additionally, the same image was stamped with 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) Flirty Flamingo ink.
  • The Fiddlehead image, from the same stamp set was stamped with 1^st and 2^nd generation Garden Green ink in the lower left corner.
• Decoration – Butterfly: Flirty Flamingo and Basic White Thick cardstock scraps.
  • The 3D Butterfly and Butterfly Base were die-cut with the two Butterfly dies from the Thanks & Beyond Dies set, a Paper Pumpkin Add-on product.
  • The edge of the top (white) Butterfly was sponged with Flirty Flamingo ink using a Sponge Dauber and then adhered to the base (pink) Butterfly.
  • The Butterfly was adhered to the panel.
• Sentiment – Thanks: Basic White Thick cardstock scrap die-cut with the Thanks word die, also from the same die set and adhered under the Butterfly.

The completed panel was popped up on the card base with Foam Adhesive Strips to add additional dimension.

A soft and subtle thank you card.
