Merry Patterns – Happy Holidays

Welcome back!  A few more deadlines…

Playing with Jingle Belles (#2407) and choosing a Cookie for inspiration and using the color palette from Cupcake Inspirations (#591) and bringing them together, the Paper craft Crew (#564) sketch.

Here is the result:

MERRY PATTERNS – ITTY BITTY CHRISTMAS – JB2407 – CIC591 – PCC564

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Accent Mat: (2¾” x 4”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (2¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Outline Deer image from the retired Merry Patterns stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.
    • The image was also stamped on Masking Paper and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
    • The Mask was used to cover the original stamped Deer.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Balmy Blue ink was added to color the background.
    • The Mask was removed.
    • Using the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker, the Sweater Area of the In-Fill Deer image was colored and stamped in place.
    • Using both Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers, the Deer image was colored.
    • Highlights and Shadows were added with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Marker.
  • Sentiment Banner: (2¾” x ½”) Balmy Blue cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Holidays, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Sentiment was die-cut with the same sized Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a version of the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and several White Snowflakes from the Adhesive Backed Snowflake Assortment pack, also available On-Line, were added to complete the card.
