Simply Zinnia – Thoughtful Expressions

Welcome back!  Had a great class yesterday, but it was a full day.  Glad to be in the Studio playing with some of my new things…

Easter is almost here, and there are still quite a few Spring/Easter themed challenges about.  So, let’s knock some off!

I started with the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge (#348) to case a card from the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog – page 29; Sunday Stamps (#331) for the Colors; Double Trouble (#162) partnering with Beautiful Blossoms (#15) for Spring Flowers, along with both Shopping Our Stash (#518) and Heart’s Quest (#51) looking for the same.

Here is the result:

SIMPLY ZINNIA – THOUGHTFUL EXPRESSIONS – SUOC348 – SSC331 – DT162 – BBC015 – SOS518 – HQCB51

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Card Front Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Bubble Bath Ombre patterned piece of paper from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Accent Rectangle: (2½” x 3½”) Bubble Bath / Berry Burst Watercolor patterned piece of paper also from the Bight & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Center Shape – Scalloped Circle: (3¼” x 3¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Scalloped die from the Thoughtful Expressions Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Flowers: (4¼” x 2⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Triple Bloom Flower image, from the On-Line Exclusive Simply Zinnia stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Zinnias: Light and Dark Lemon Lolly, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light and Dark Bubble Bath and Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo and Leaves – Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam.
    • The image was die-cut with the coordinating die from the Simply Zinnia Dies set and then trimmed closer with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Banner: Soft Sea Foam cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, enjoy your day, from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and then die-cut with the (2¾” x ½”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble my CASE of the lower left sketch.  The Blooms were popped up with Dimensionals as was the Sentiment Banner.  Three retired Clear Adhesive Backed Milky Dots were added as was one small Bubble Bath Heart from the Adhesive Backed Heats and Flowers embellishment pack.

Spring and Spring Flowers just make me smile…
