Feeling Sentimental – Hello

Let’s play!!  It is Tuesday and time to create for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#452).  The original card can be found on page 25 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

So, I chose the Color Dare (#591) challenge to use Black and White and one other color – how about red, along with the Alphabet (Letter Y) challenge for Yesteryear with an antique or retro type image.

Here is the result:

SENTIMENTAL FEELING – BIGGEST WISH – CT452 – CD591 – ALPHABET Letter Y

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5⅛”) Black Speckled patterned piece of paper from the Rock and Roll – Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the same-sized die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
  • Accent Strip: (1” x 4⅝”) Real Red cardstock also die-cut with dies from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
    • The edges of the strip were antiqued with a bit of Smoky Slate ink applied with a Sponge Dauber.
  • Focal Panel: (2½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Telephone Box from the retired Feeling Sentimental stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and also die-cut and the edges were also antiqued.
  • Sentiment: (2⅛” x ⅞”) Basic Black cardstock scrap.
    • The greeting, hello, from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and also die-cut.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a few Classic Matte Dots were added with one colored with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends Marker.

How nice it was to be able to find a phone box on every corner and make a call…sometimes I miss that in today’s world.

Hope you can find some time to join us at Case-ing Tuesday this week.  I would love to see what you will create for this sketch.

  1. That’s a fancy telephone booth! I grew up during those. lol And party lines and calling the operator. Guess I’m vintage, too. lol Great card and as always, thank you for sharing at Color Dare.
